  • VirtuosoEar BASIC Edition

VirtuosoEar is officially used as the product name for our software "12 Note Mapper" starting from September 1, 2010. If you think the name is an over statement, we would like you to try it for yourself. Believe it or not, you can name notes you hear just like a virtuoso does.

  • 12 Note Mapper

is officially released on August 6, 2010. The 12 Note Mapper is a software companion to our recent book "A Totally New Approach to Ear Training based on the 12 Note Solfege". With your MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) enabled instrument, you can experience the same effect as the recording of the book while playing your instrument. Thus, you can extend your Ear Training into your regular practice session. This speeds up the progress and improves the effectiveness.

  • EarMagic STANDARD Edition

is officially released on July 9, 2010. The BASIC Edition is officially discontinued since the STANDARD Edition has more features offered at the same price. The STANDARD Edition is now equipped with 12 Note Mapper, our own unique technology introduced in our recent book "A Totally New Approach to Ear Training with 12 Note Solfege". This unique approach could change your Ear Training experiences.

  • Our 4 Year Anniversary:

We celebrated our fourth year anniversary a bit differently. Instead of usual Fireworks, we officially embarked on EarMagic iPhone version. Believe it or not, we joined iPhone 4 Launch at the Apple Palo Alto store on June 24, 2010. We really like iPhone 4. We would like to see our program running on this cool device even more.

  • Apple Developer Program:

Pianistica became a registered member of Apple Developer on March 11, 2010. Our Development Effort in Mac and iPhone area will be significantly increased.

  • The 2010 NAMM Show (January 14-17):

  • White Paper: Ear Training for Musicians

is released on August 22, 2009. The paper outlines the concept behind our Ear Training products. It is highly recommended to anyone who is serious about his/her music development, parents and music teachers/instructors. Even if you disagree with the concept, you will learn a broad spectrum of the issues around the subject. It is available as a free download from our site.

  • Healdsburg Guitar Festival (August 14-16):

We did not participate in the event as an exhibitor, but we were there to celebrate this wonderful festival. We did release a preliminary edition of our white paper titled "Ear Training for Musicians" for the event. We will seriously consider running Ear Training Seminars/Workshops at the next event.

  • Our 3 Year Anniversary:

We celebrated our third year anniversary on July 4th, 2009 once again with Fireworks in San Francisco Bay Front. We are very busy at the moment, but we will post some cool movie clips when we find some time.

  • A Totally New Approach to Ear Training based on the 12 Note Solfege (An e-book and mp3 recordings)

is released on May 21, 2009. We put together an entirely new Ear Training Method, which significantly improves your music experience. Our entire R & D effort had put into this area to bring this new product as quick as possible. Initially, it is in e-book and mp3 file format and distributed through our web site until we find a publisher. The e-book version will probably continue for remote customers.

Our initial product, EarMagic Basic, is a useful tool, but it is rather weak as a stand alone product without a formal training method. This will change completely with upcoming EarMagic Standard Edition.

  • Stanford Cool Product Expo / 2009:

We displayed our upcoming new book and companion software at this year's Cool Product Expo at Stanford University. This is an annual event hosted by Stanford students. It took place on April 8 for this year. You can visit their web site for more information on the event. Cool Product Expo 2009

  • Our 2 Year Anniversary:

We celebrated our second year anniversary on July 4th, 2008 again with Fireworks in San Francisco Bay Front. This year, there was a fog hanging in the bay and most of the fireworks were happening behind the fog. But, there were some below the fog, too. You can download movie clips (5 MByte each) below. It is best if you can play all of them continuously.
