VirtuosoEar BASIC Edition with YAMAHA S80 and sister Synthesizers
Note: Depending on the knob positions, you might see differnt Menu Entries. As such, you need to be familiar with the basic operational procedures of S80. Please use this as a guideline. The settings below did work for us for a specific version of (OS) Operating System inside, which we do not recall. It is possilbe that there might be some changes made in newer OS, which could require some changes to the process described below. Generally speaking, it should work. S80 is a very complex machine. We have scratched our heads so many times. Since this is not our product, please do not contact us for any specific questions. Please contact YAMAHA, instead.

0. This setup assumes that you use S80 as a MIDI input device as well as a MIDI output device. Thus, you must choose S80 as both MIDI In and Out in VirtuosoEar.
1. Start out with a Factory Default for the sake of simplicity. If you can not do that, you can modify the process below to suit your needs. But, you are on your own. Press [VOICE], [UTILITY], [JOB], [ENTER], [YES], [EXIT], [VOICE] in this order.
2. Use an Internal Memory named "Master KB" by [PERFORM], [H], [16], [EDIT], then turn PAGE knob to GEN MIDI), then turn A knob to Part 01. The content of "Master KB" will be changed by the following process. Set 12 Parts according to the table below.

Skip Part 10 (Drum Channel)
Part 11 (A) INT 69 Violin
Part 12 (A#) PRE1 72 Harp
Part 13 (B) PRE1 118 Crotales
3. Turn PAGE knob to RCV Sw4. Turn off BankSel and PgmChng for all 12 channels. Don't forget to skip Part 10.
4. [PERFORM] to finish editting.
5. You can change the name "Master KB" to whatever you like. [PERFORM], [EDIT], then turn A knob all the way to left, turn PAGE to GEN Name). Please refer to your manual for the procedure. You do not have to change the name to make this work. We use "12Note Map", by the way. Finish the name change with [PERFORM].
6. Turn off Local Echo by [UTILITY], turn PAGE knob to MIDI Ch), set Local off, then [PERFORM].
7. Store the changes you have made by [STORE], [ENTER], [YES]
8. Now, it's ready for the show. The setting will not disappear even if you switch off S80. But, INT Voices can be over-written if you use SEQ PLAY, for example. If you have a memory card, you can store it to an External Voice. We use EXT 004 slot. You can copy the content of INT 128 to EXT 004, in this case.
